4th of July

For the 4th of July this year we went to the Buhl parade (like every year). It still surprises me to no end that the only town around here that does a parade is Buhl. I can't fathom why Twin Falls and Jerome don't do it. It's one of my favorite things about the holiday. Anyway, we went to the parade. It was Tessa first parade. She did not appreciate the loud sirens on the firetrucks. But the rest of the parade was good for her.

Abby was so funny to watch. She waited so patiently for them to throw candy. (They didn't throw very much). They would throw it and she would freeze, we had to keep telling her to go and get some. By the time she unfroze the candy was all gone. Luckily a few of the older kids were nice enough to share with her. She would eat whatever candy she had and could care less if they were throwing more candy if she already had one in her hand.

Kyler has the whole parade thing figured out. He stood at the side of the road ready and waiting for any candy they threw out. Unfortunately there were way more kids than candy but they all still had a really good time. He enjoyed seeing the tractors and horses and fancy cars. He was having a good time playing with some friends of his and just playing outside.

After the parade we went to the Jones's for a BBQ. Shane and I were so tired that we left early and put the kids down for a nap so we could sleep too.

We didn't go to the fireworks that night in Twin. We went to Papa Kevin's house and ate dinner and played. Kyler and Abby love to play outside in the dirt at Papa's house. I don't know what they will do when he puts in his lawn. They may be devastated. They were out there doing dirt angels at one point. Each time they tried to come in the house we would have to go out and dust them off to make sure they didn't leave a trail of dirt through the house. They were barely recognizable as children. By the time it was late enough to go to the fireworks show, the kids were exhausted. So we watched the show from the car while driving home. When we got home we lit off a few of the fireworks we bought. It was a really good day!
